My 1992 Suzuki GS500e. This was a very easy-to-ride beginner bike, with good power to get around, but not so much to get you in trouble. Great gas mileage, easy to maintain and cheap insurance. Some mods I did include a drag bar, flush-mount rear signals, engine case guards, led dash lights, steel-braided front brake line and tank grippers. Sold, need more power.
My current bike, a 2000 Suzuki SV650. I picked it up to replace my GS500e. It had low mileage and was completely stock. The previous owner had it in storage for a couple of years, so I had to do a tuneup and fix a couple of things when I got it. Some big ones were the blown fork seals, a clutch cover leak and a rejet to fix a lean surge problem. So far, I think it is a perfect upgrade with about 20 more horsepower,
plenty of torque, and a roomier cockpit, yet retained many of the things
I liked about the GS such as good gas mileage, cheap insurance and ease
of maintenance and repair. It is still pretty much stock except for a National Cycles F16 Touring windshield and Motosliders frame sliders. More mods to come, hopefully.
